The Department of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management is searching for a faculty member in Fashion Design and Product Development.
Responsibilities include teaching, independent scholarly research, and promoting student learning in the design of fashion and textile products.
The successful candidate will need to have demonstrated experience and competence in pattern making, apparel construction, computerized patternmaking, CAD, 3D visualization.
Skilled knowledge of product data management, portfolio evaluation and presentation is highly valued. Must be able to communicate and work effectively with faculty, students, laboratory and studio equipment, and staff. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be proficient in computer-aided-design, creative and entrepreneurial thinking, and the use of design technologies and textile materials to creatively build prototypical products that meet the needs of consumers and customers worldwide.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate competence in quantitative/qualitative research methods that advance knowledge in the field, build a record of successful grant writing, and be capable of collaborating with industry partners on projects and research.
