Provides innovative and creative living space concepts for targeted residential customer lifestyles based on customer research and insights. Storyboards, designs, and assists in prototyping lifestyle solutions linked todifferent customer segments and various living spaces. Participates ontheproduct development team tasked to design new solutions, improve existing solutions and tailoring applicable synergies developed with the Japanese parent company to meet local customer needs. Performs as the interiorarchitect/ designer in all phases of the design and construction process, operating within established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Analyzes customer research to identify customer needs and desires and then designs living spaces to meet those needs and desires.
Provides schematic design and design documents (or design concepts and final briefs) for both new and improved lifestyle solutions and provides support for construction documents, bidding, and construction administration of those solutions.
Develops initial design concepts and budgets for potential prototyping and then supports the testing and refinement of selected concepts.
Creates storyboards and graphic formatting for internal presentations.
Considers materials and costs and conducts feasibility studies for projects.
Evaluates current solutions to identify ways to improve their design effectiveness and efficiency based on customer needs and desires.
Keeps currenton design trends and developments in the design industry.
Works with divisions and internal stakeholders to socialize designs and thinking behind them.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA or NAAB?accredited program or equivalent (required)
3+ years of professional design experience, preferably in the Interior Architecture field (required)
Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling / BIM software (required)
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) (required)
Demonstrated creativity skills especially in Schematic Design and the ability to design solutions for specific customer needs and desires (required)
Possess a high level of visual and verbal communication skills and a high level of freehand and rendering skills. (required)
Working knowledge of FF&E, construction materials, and specifications
Proven knowledge of building codes, building materials, and construction details
Strong attention to design details (required)
Ability to work on multiple projects and maintain effective communication (required)
Experience in construction documentation production
Understand and apply design principles, theories, colors, and materials (required)
Must understand trends, construction methods, finishes (required)
Effective verbal and written communication skills (required)
Self?directed, motivated, collaborative, and professional (required)
Ability to contribute and participate in a highly collaborative team environment (required)
