Robin Wilson Interior Design is seeking a Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager who is collaborative and a creative team player to work in a fast paced boutique design studio. The position requires the following: - Extensive knowledge of construction document production
- Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks, typically reporting to a Principal

- This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 10-12 years experience in the design industry.
Responsibilities for this position include the following: - Coordinating construction administration and conducting technical research that encompasses research, development, and implementation of plans and designs of commercial and residential interior environments to enhance the function and quality of interior spaces, thereby increasing productivity and protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the general public.
- Executing the interior design process within the overall framework of the project team, following a systematic and coordinated methodology which includes research, analysis, and integration of information into the creative process, resulting in an appropriately planned and designed interior environment
- Analyzing clients’ needs, goals, and life and safety requirements
- Integrating findings with knowledge of interior design principles
- Formulating preliminary design concepts that are appropriate, functional, and aesthetic
- Developing conceptual design and design development of interior projects
- Selection of interior finishes, furniture, and equipment
- Developing final design recommendations through appropriate presentation media
- Production of space plans, furniture plans, elevations, conceptual and finished design presentation documentation
- Development of Construction Documents
- Incorporating applicable building code and ADA code compliance regulations
- Providing solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives
- Reviewing drawings, mock ups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors
- Reviewing pricing, materials, and value engineering for projects
- Adhering to/Management of project time and material budgets
- Managing delegated tasks and budgets to team members
- Formulating initial project budgets, timelines and scopes
- Formulating additional service agreements
- Review of team members performance and success of project
- Delivering the highest quality of professional service
Specifically, the Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager is capable of performing any or all of the following services under the guidance of a Principal: Programming - Identifying and analyzing the client’s needs and goals
- Evaluating existing documentation and conditions
- Assessing project resources and limitations
- Identifying life, safety, and code requirements
- Analyzing design objectives and spatial requirements
- Coordinating with consultants and other specialists when required by professional practice or regulatory approval
Conceptual Design - Formulating preliminary plans and design concepts for client discussion and approval that appropriately describe the character, function, and aesthetic of a project
Design Development - Developing for client review and approval final design recommendations, inclusive of space planning and furniture layouts; wall, window, floor, and ceiling treatments; furniture, fixtures, and millwork; colors, finishes, and materials; hardware, lighting, electrical, and communications requirements
- Developing art, accessory, and signage wayfinding programs
- Preparing presentation media inclusive of drawings, sketches and color, material and furniture presentation boards.
- Preparing bid documentation
- Preparing construction documentation
Contract Documents - Preparing working drawings and specifications for non-load bearing interior construction, materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment for client’s approval
- Collaborating with specialty consultants and licensed practitioners in the technical areas of mechanical, electrical, and load-bearing design as required by professional practice or regulatory approval
Contract Administration - Assisting in obtaining required permits
- Conducting on-site visits and field inspections
- Overseeing the quality of production and installation of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment on clients’ behalf
- Preparing lists of deficiencies for client’s use
