The Showroom Manager manages and administers all operational activities pertaining to trade shows and events at the Jonathan Louis Showroom facility, located in High Point, North Carolina.  This role has direct accountability to managing all day-to-day and Market functions/activities of the High Point showroom space and personnel, under the direction of the Director, Wholesale Marketing to ensure the space efficiently provides all relevant needs and services.

The showroom hosts a larger bi-annual event called Furniture Market that brings multiple dealers and trade clients to the location as well as unscheduled, non-market events, throughout the year when business needs arise. 

Job Responsibilities:

Event Management

• Leads the execution of Furniture Market, Pre-Market, and private client showings in the Jonathan Louis High Point Showroom
• Must be on-call during Market Show dates and non-market dates as requested
• Collaborates with Jonathan Louis team, interior designers, contractors, and laborers to administer and execute bi-annual Furniture Market events and Non-Market events throughout the year.
• In collaboration with all stakeholders (internal and external); manages floor plans; establishes and manages product move-in, set-up, and operation, dismantles, and moves out of all trade shows best-in-class and ensure best-in-class customer service
• Plans and executes of room set-up, audio-visual, staging, food service, and catering options; scheduling, staffing levels, and management of labor; management of event inventory, including props, furnishings, and décor
• Coordinates all showroom meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Staffing/Staff Management

• Hires/subcontracts and directs hourly showroom set-up staff (average 4)
  • Directs staff on the execution of Furniture Market, Pre-Market, and private client showings
  • Directs staff to assist interior designers in the set-up: moving products, placing rugs, hanging décor, organizing décor closets, lighting, etc.
  • Holds staff accountable for packaging products for sell-offs and photography, picking up and dropping off packages, and removal of trash from the showroom
• Schedules and manages supporting staff: Cleaning staff, receptionist, barista, and bartender
• Manages tradesmen, cleaning crews, caterers, suppliers, and the expenses associated with them
• Manages relationships with vendor partners as necessary to produce all trade shows and events

Product/Prop Management

• Leads set-up, post-market duties, and sell-offs for showroom
• Assists in the execution of showroom photography and studio photography
• Organizes and maintains an inventory of showroom props, swatches, and POP
• Creates and maintains product inventory files
• Communicates discrepancies and product damages. Responsible for assessing product damages and determining if a replacement is necessary

Facilities Management

• Manages and executes operational functions of the showroom facility
• Places orders for food, drinks, office supplies, cleaning supplies, packaging supplies, etc. are required for each event
• Communicates with building manager on any showroom maintenance-related matters
• Contacts the third party for repairs and upgrades when not covered by the building. Provides estimates and requests approval
  • If major construction is necessary, the showroom manager will provide weekly updates on the progress
• Supervises all showroom-related repairs and remodels
• Must be on-site when third parties are present in the showroom (interior designers, contractors, sales representatives, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Must have five (5) years or more of experience producing trade shows, meetings, or other similar large-scale events
• Must be able to work in a high-stressed, high-stress environment; maintain physical stamina and positive attitude while working under pressure; self-starter, handle multiple events at one time, and be detail-oriented
• Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
• Energy, drive, vision, and credibility to partner with the team whose operational excellence is critical to the success of the High Point Market

• Computer savvy and have strong experience working with PCs, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Etc.), and Google Docs
• Experience with scheduling and coordinating with logistic teams
• Must be capable of using and operating all equipment as required, including but not limited to: iPad, laptop, etc.
• General office, scheduling skills required, and phone skills.
• Able to move objects (including medium to large furniture items up to 75 pounds) from a lower to a higher position or horizontally from position to position or be able to assemble furniture
