The Marketing Director will work directly with the President and relevant business partners to define and evolve the ongoing marketing strategy. This position holds ultimate responsibility for the organizations global marketing activities and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for the business. This primarily involves developing and implementing strategies to strengthen the company’s market presence and help define it’s “voice” that will make a difference.
This individual will lead and manage the marketing team, coaching and reviewing team member’s performance. This position will work with Operations and Finance teams to deliver the department objectives and meet financial objectives.
The ultimate goal is to increase the company’s market share and maximize revenues in order to thrive against competitors.
Job Duties of the Marketing Director
Implement a comprehensive brand strategy
Develop the marketing strategy for new and existing products
Oversee execution of the marketing strategy and activities - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, social marketing and PR including dealers and trade showrooms and organize them efficiently
Supervise the day to day activities of the department and provide guidance and feedback to other marketing professionals
Ensure that the marketing objectives are implemented by the marketing team
Work closely with the company’s Sales team; enabling them to meet their sales objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations
Work closely with product management team to define marketing materials and programs
Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition
Developing and delivering marketing and communications strategies for the organization
Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
Monitor progress and submit performance reports
Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects
Become the organization’s agent towards external parties such as media, stakeholders and potential clients and build strategic partnerships
Requirements of the Role
Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing
5+ years management and leadership experience in senior marketing roles with proven track record (home furnishing experience a plus but not required)
Exceptional organizational, communication and negotiation skills
Ability to successfully communicate to a varied audience in both written and spoken form
Experience creating exceptional presentations & ability to present ideas and information in a group situation
Strong management skills and an ability to partner closely with various departments
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities
