AV/IT Infrastructure Engineer Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA) NC State University Raleigh, NC
The AV/IT Network Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for integrating technical capabilities and solutions across a broad spectrum of AV/IT technology disciplines to address the needs of NC State faculty and staff through the services of DELTA's Enterprise Digital Media Support. This position is part of a dedicated support team tasked with on-site administration, support, and maintenance of DELTA's AV/IT infrastructure networked across nine campus buildings. The primary focus is on customer service, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that are essential to assisting faculty, staff, and students with technical issues in a friendly, approachable, and effective manner. The lucky candidate will possess strong planning skills, and expertise in installation, operation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and user training of networked multimedia systems and applications used for instructional purposes. The AV/IT Network Infrastructure Engineer is a member of a high-performing team, surrounded by peers and leaders that foster excellence and growth. The AV/IT Network Infrastructure Engineer reports to the A/V and Network Infrastructure Manager and is empowered to collaborate with and engage with a variety of providers and end-users, including faculty, DELTA support teams, OIT, and other IT vendors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the AV/IT Network Infrastructure Engineer:
Respond to trouble calls and or ServiceNow tickets from lower-level support teams and lead the initial response to any technical issues.
Work with management, internal subject matter experts, and vendors to resolve problems.
Implement software upgrades and system expansions.
Analyze and resolve problems in software and hardware-based systems.
Perform analysis and general system health checks across various technologies.
Perform periodic maintenance procedures and proactive preventive maintenance actions.
Develop the skills to become a subject matter expert for a collection of technologies within and across supported facilities.
Consult and communicate frequently with Enterprise Digital Media (EDM) management and other identified key constituents.
Assist with the development of standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles, and participate in tactical groups and/or strategic meetings.
Be heavily involved in research and development and may initiate proof of concept installations
