JOB DESCRIPTION
USC Athletics is looking to hire an Assistant Director, Environmental Graphic Design to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. Â Reporting directly to the Athletics Chief Creative Officer the Assistant Director, Environmental Graphic Design will work in collaboration with the Chief Creative Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Creative Team, and coaches to design, implement and elevate environmental graphics throughout USC Athletic facilities.
This role requires a blended set of skills to tackle high-concept spatial graphics as well as experience in ideation, production-ready art, and more. The successful candidate should possess qualifications and experience in interior design and/or architecture background.Â
This is an hourly position with work expected in the evenings and assigned weekends. The position serves a diverse student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for historically under-served populations and is expected to contribute to the programâs diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Producing engaging assets that demonstrate a high-level understanding of design and the facility it is displayed.
- Maintaining and updating USCâs brand guidelines.
- Play a critical role in the ideation and design of facilities
- Producing wall art graphics for all Athletic facilities as assigned.
- Communicating and presenting design concepts; producing presentation materials in conjunction with a design that effectively communicates the idea.
- Assist in creating processes to keep numerical graphics current as changes are needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelorâs Degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelorâs degree or equivalent in a design-related field or equitable professional experience (3-5 years is preferred).
- Strong design background in one of the following areas:Â Architecture, industrial design, interior design, environmental design, and/or graphic design
- Portfolio demonstrating design capabilities
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and SketchUp
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be flexible, deadline-driven, and a great collaborator
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work nights, evenings, and weekends

Knowledge of desktop publishing systems and specialized equipment related to periodical production.
